"Stunning" in Alize Miss Batik #4536

I looked around until I found a pattern that might work with variegated thread again. I have a few skeins of the AMB thread and I really wanted to use this one on a good pattern. When I stumbled upon "Stunning" by Patricia Kristoffersen, I knew I the long colorway would really look stunning with it.

I used a 1.75mm hook. The completed piece is 11.5-inches (29 cm) in diameter.

I love how the variegation allows the "petals" (midway to the edges) to really pop out. PK included that row as back-post stitches, which also lends itself to such a definition in the work. The actual pattern is 29 rounds, but I inserted a row between 28 and 29 (you can find my notes here) in order for the border to look more regal. I do love how it worked.
